Are you feeling stuck in your life, like you are going nowhere fast, but don’t know why? Or maybe you experienced a traumatic event, and you feel that your life has never been the same. EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and Brainspotting can help you break free from old patterns that no longer serve you and keep you stuck. I specialize in both approaches, and they work fast, so you can get back to enjoying your life. These approaches can help you resolve traumas (both major traumas and other disturbing life events), move you past performance anxiety (e.g., in sports or the arts), and help with depression, anxiety and other issues that impact your quality of life.

In addition to EMDR and Brainspotting, I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. I also draw from Carl Jung and Carl Rogers in facilitating exploration and insight. Using this variety of approaches, I can flexibly tailor treatment to your needs and help you get past what keeps you from fulfilling your potential.

Often, what brings people to therapy is pain and suffering, and it is understandable to want relief from the pain and a return to previous levels of functioning. However, therapy can be a great opportunity for people to move beyond their previous levels of functioning, break out of old patterns that are no longer helpful, and transform their lives into something meaningful and deeply fulfilling.

While I consider myself to be a generalist practitioner, I particularly enjoy working with trauma, social anxiety, generalized anxiety, panic disorder, OCD, grief and loss (including pet loss), and depression. Additionally, I am very interested in working with creative people (e.g., artists, musicians, and writers), members of the LGBT community, and individuals who incorporate spirituality into their healing process.

Because every client who comes to therapy is unique, I have found it valuable to take a flexible, integrative approach to therapy, tailoring treatment to each individual’s presenting concerns, preferences, and personality characteristics.  Additionally, I find great value in drawing on clients’ strengths and treating them as whole individuals, rather than as sets of symptoms.

If you are interested in working with me, please do not hesitate to contact me. I look forward to hearing from you.
